国内インストロックの雄・LITEとmouse on the keysの日本を代表するバンド2組が、Braid、Enemies、toe、You Blew It!、The Velvet Teenなどをリリースしているアメリカ、サンディエゴの優良インディーレーベルTopshelf RecordsよりスプリットEPをリリースすることが発表された。

　スプリットEPに収録される楽曲は、それぞれ次回作に収録予定の未発表の新曲を1曲ずつと、LITEはmouse on the keysの定番曲「最後の晩餐」、mouse on the keysはLITEの前作『Installation』より「Echolocation」のカバーが収録されている。リリース形態は12インチ・アナログ盤とデジタルの2形態となり、10月21日のアナログ盤リリースに先駆けて、9月30日にワールドワイドでデジタルリリースされる。

　またアメリカで今作のリリースツアーも決定している。2バンドのWヘッドライナーとして、11月にロサンゼルス、サンフランシスコ、シアトル、バンクーバーなど計7都市をまわる西海岸ツアーを行なうことも合わせて発表されている。

mouse on the keys is one of the first bands that really challenged the idea,
for me, of what a three-piece band was sonically capable of. I’ve never had the opportunity to see them before so I’m incredibly humbled and excited that I get to help in bringing them over to the US for a tour in some small way. The fact that they’ll be playing with LITE ― another band I’m thrilled to have Topshelf associated with ― only serves to sweeten the deal. To me,

these are two of the most genuinely electrifying and technically proficient groups of musicians in the world right now so we’re very excited to be releasing new music for them and bringing them over here. If you need me,
